Paul Bailey – Honorary Member (class of 1971) – In 1979, Paul, and a group of friends and business partners, created the Aptos Sports Foundation. The Foundation was created to help Aptos sports. Today the Foundation is one of the oldest booster groups still associated with the high school, and Paul remains as the only active original member, having served as president for the past twenty years. The Foundation’s annual golf tournament has raised more than $350,000.00 over the years for Aptos sports, and this money has benefited every sport on campus. Some of the larger projects include the remodeling and reconstruction of the baseball field, the installation of the all-weather track, drainage systems for the athletic fields, lane lines and wrestling mats, annual field maintenance, uniforms, and much, much more. As a student at Aptos, Paul was a member of the swim team, specializing in freestyle and breast stroke. He went on to swim at Cabrillo College, and in 1975, Paul became co-owner of Bailey Properties, along with his brother Robert, and his father Bob. Paul and his wife, Lyn, have two children, Lisa and Joe, who are both Aptos graduates. Paul was presented into the Hall by Athletic Director, Mark Dorfman.
