After a 15 month layoff, the AHS Football Team finally took the field again on Friday, March 19, and they defeated the Monte Vista Christian HS Mustangs 49-13. Seamus Carey ran back the opening kickoff back 99 yards for a TD, and the Mariners never looked back. The 99 yard return tied an AHS school record. Nicco Riccabona, in another amazing feat, broke a different school record with an 89 yard interception return for another TD, putting the Mariners up 21-0.

In the big picture, the game was only one small step in our hopeful return to normalcy, but our student-athletes, our coaches, and all their families were all excited to play and to represent Aptos High with pride, relief, and enthusiasm. Here's hoping for more good days ahead.
